AI (Artificial Intelligence) Will Make Family Law Attorneys Unnecessary

Artificial intelligence will put many people in the family law system out of business. Most people think of automation they think of robots doing blue-collar jobs. But with Artificial intelligence, many licensed professions are going to find it difficult to find or keep a job. Doctors and lawyers may soon find machines doing their job.

We already have the technology to eliminate jobs for many attorneys (and judges). The technology exists for the state to set up a system where you go online to get a divorce, input all your information – personal, financial, children, visitation schedule – and the computer would give you a result with the amount of child support and spousal support you should owe. If both parties are happy with the result, you click file, and all paperwork is filed for you. You get a final judgment sent to you in the mail.

If you are not happy with the result, you can go to court.

Many white-collar jobs now exist as welfare for college graduates. We can’t put them out of business because we don’t know what they would do. What skills does an out of work attorney have if he can’t practice law? But the reality is that ChatGPT can write better now than most family law attorneys. And it will only get better.
